The Model Factory in the East Port Said Industrial Zone covers a total land area of 2,500 m2. The construction project was divided into two main buildings. The first was the factory building, with a total area of 2,000 m2, and the second was the administrative building with a total area of 500 m2. Work comprised of cast-in-place concrete that included 100 mm thick under-pile caps, 100 mm thick underground beams, and 50 mm thick under suspended slab. Masonry work included concrete blocks; solid masonry, and fire rating. Metal work was also carried out, it included metal fabrications, metal gratings, metal sun breakers including frames, thermal and moisture protection, as well as hollow metals doors, glazed aluminum curtain walls, aluminum windows, door hardware, and fixed louvers. Finishing work was also completed, including Portland cement plastering, gypsum board, porcelain tiling, glazed ceramic tiles and fittings, saddles, and marble. Also completed during the execution of this project were fire suppression works, plumbing works, heating, ventilating and air conditioning works, electrical works, a structured cabling network for communications, an electronic safety and security system, as well as earthwork that included 1010 m3 excavation to bottom of the plain concrete.
