The construction of the third stage of the new Ismailia Freeway Urban Ring Road from Ismailia Road to Al Qalyubia stretches over 20.5 km, from km +46 to km +66.5. The road consists of 8 lanes, 4 in each direction, in addition to 4 lanes service road, 2 lanes in each direction. Work included laying a 30 cm thick aggregate base course, a 7 cm thick bituminous base course, a 6 cm thick binder course, and a 5 cm wearing course. Civil construction work included culverts, and reinforced concrete bridges on pile foundation. The work also included concrete barriers, side slope protection, lighting works, and traffic and ambulance centers.
