Eng. Sami Saad started his long and distinguished journey as a civil engineer, graduating in 1956 from Cairo University and establishing his first company, a construction company in 1962. The company started as a private business venture during the height of state nationalization of businesses and curtailing private initiatives. Sami Saad Holding managed to not only establish itself but also thrive by undertaking construction projects that no one else would. From working in construction in the desert to industrial development projects, to real estate development, Saad managed to expand his business portfolio from Samcrete Egypt Engineers and Contractors, to Samcrete Building Systems, to Samcrete Urban Development, to IDG (Industrial Development Group), to name a few. Saad did not restrict his success to the construction and real estate sector but expanded his business into the hotel and tourism industry establishing further companies such as ALDAU Company and Master Line, both of which are hotel and resort developments. Saad was able to replicate his success within the competitive and volatile automotive industry establishing ventures such as NATCO, the exclusive general agent for Mercedes Benz cars in Egypt and creating sales and after sales services companies across Egypt. Saad's acumen and resilience extended to the food industry, when the legendary Egyptian confectionery company Corona (established 1919) was acquired and turned into a successful private business venture following its oversight for many years as a state-owned company. Adding to his remarkable achievements across many aspects of the industry, Saad maintained a very active role as a member of all the key business associations, including the American Chamber of Commerce, Egyptian Businessmen Association, the Egyptian British Business Council and the German Chamber of Commerce among many others.
